Jednoriadkové upraviť kontroly v dialógovom okne heslo má ES_PASSWORD štýlu. V predvolenom nastavení upravovať kontroly s tento štýl displej pre každý znak hviezdička užívateľské typy. V tomto príklade však využíva správu EM_SETPASSWORDCHAR na zmeniť predvolený znak hviezdička na znamienko plus (+).
Toto okno postup zmení predvolené tlačidlo push z zrušiť OK ako používateľ zadá textu v ovládacom prvku upraviť. Ak používateľ stlačí tlačidlo OK, okno postup používa na načítanie textu správy EM_LINELENGTH a EM_GETLINE.
